Eucodonia verticillata – A rare and interesting gesneriad species forming a small, rhizomatous plant with softly textured, dark olive-green leaves. The flowers are open and bell-shaped, light purple with delicate darker spotting in a white throat that may be lightly yellow-tinged. Produced in succession, the blooms contrast beautifully with the foliage and create an elegant display. Over time, the plant spreads to form dense clusters.
After an extended flowering period, it enters a natural dormancy, resting as scaly rhizomes until the next growth cycle.
