Sinningia guttata – A compact tuberous species from southeastern Brazil forming a basal rosette of green leaves. The flowers are pale to white with numerous dark purple or maroon spots, a feature reflected in the species name guttata (“spotted”). Blooms are produced on upright stems above the foliage, creating a delicate speckled display. Like other sinningias, the plant grows from a tuber and may rest during part of its seasonal cycle.
