Streptocarpus linguatus – A rare and highly unusual Streptocarpus species from Madagascar, belonging to Streptocarpella Section Hova. Unlike the familiar stemless rosette-form Streptocarpus, S. linguatus develops upright, branching reddish stems with leaves arranged along their length, creating the appearance of a miniature tree or shrub. The foliage is soft green, textured and slightly serrated, while the tiny, delicate flowers appear from the leaf axils.
Its distinctive caulescent growth habit makes it particularly fascinating for collectors of unusual Gesneriads and species plants. A real botanical curiosity and a very uncommon plant in cultivation.
